Credo EV 1202 Ref. – Compact. Powerful. Musical.

A floor-standing speaker that defies expectations with effortless detail, dynamics, and precision.

A Tower Speaker That Redefines Performance

The Credo EV 1202 Ref. is a loudspeaker that challenges traditional expectations—combining the detail and accuracy of a monitor speaker with the scale, dynamics, and bass depth of a true floor-stander.

Designed for critical listeners and audiophiles who seek balance, the EV 1202 Ref. delivers an expansive soundstage, pinpoint imaging, and exceptional musicality in a compact and elegant design. Whether placed in dedicated listening rooms or modern living spaces, this speaker blends in visually while standing out sonically.

The Designer: Michael Kraske – The Pursuit of Sonic Perfection

At the core of every Credo speaker is the vision of Michael Kraske, a speaker designer and system engineer whose work has been praised by many experienced and respected industry experts. Kraske believes that a loudspeaker should not impose itself on the music—but should disappear, leaving only the artist’s intent. His designs, rooted in scientific research and refined through thousands of hours of listening, have been recognized by:

Marc Phillips (Part-Time Audiophile)
“If someone told me I could only listen to the EV 1202s for the rest of my life, I’d have no problem with that. They are that good.”

Eric Franklin Shook (Part-Time Audiophile)
“The EV 1202s delivered a sound so immersive that I found myself completely lost in the music—proof that precision and musicality can go hand in hand.”

David Blumenstein (Dagogo)
“These speakers create an almost holographic sense of space, with layers of depth and realism that are rarely achieved at this price point.”

With an extensive background in high-end speaker development and monitoring applications, Kraske’s work ensures that every Credo speaker faithfully translates the emotional and dynamic nuances of a live performance.

The Credo EV 1202 Ref. strengths include crystalline clarity that never gets edgy, a delicacy to detail, supple nuance, a huge and very well defined sound image, and the ability to completely disappear leaving the physical presence of music in their place. If you want the Credo to tilt toward higher resolution and tightly controlled bass, the Mola Mola Kula gets you there and then some. Looking for a bit more richness and fatter sounding fun? The PrimaLuna EVO 300 works wonders with the 1202s as does the LTA Z40+ that leans a bit more towards detail and delicacy, and if you want the best of all worlds with a holographic sound image that’s flat out spooky in its thereness, Riviera has your ticket.

I’m always a big fan of high-end audio components that offer incredible value without flash or bling, and the Credos–from a distance–appear to be the proverbial wolf-in-a-wool-sportscoat. Look closely, and you’ll see that precise Swiss approach to audio. Listen closely, and you’ll be as drunk on the sound as I am.

If you are looking for a sleeper system it is this one right here. This unassuming setup consists of Credo EV 1202 Ref, a pair of LTA ZOTL40 Reference+ Power amps, MicroZOTL Preamp, and a Meitner MA-3 Integrated DAC. When I walked into the room I was looking for a subwoofer, I couldn’t believe the power and presence coming from the relatively small Credo speakers. The detail was spectacular, high frequencies were airy and light, with a superb midrange and reaching low into the bass tones. The sound came across as fairly balanced with a touch of warmth.

  • Swiss precision engineering – Every speaker is assembled in-house with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Premium materials – Cabinets constructed from high-density European fiberboard (HDF and MDF), chosen for both acoustic performance and sustainability.

At Credo, we are not interested in following trends—we are committed to creating loudspeakers that set new standards in transparency, accuracy, and long-term musical enjoyment.

The Science Behind the Emotion

Every Credo speaker is meticulously engineered to be an honest and revealing musical instrument. While the listening experience is purely emotional, the technology behind it is grounded in acoustic precision and innovation.

  • Optimized Timing & Phase Response – The crossover network is designed to push phase shifts beyond the audible crossover spectrum, maintaining coherence and imaging accuracy.
  • Smooth Frequency & Impedance Response – A linear, stable load ensures compatibility with a wide range of amplifiers, preserving dynamics and transparency.
  • Controlled Bass Performance – Advanced bass-reflex tuning extends low-frequency depth without overhang, delivering tight, powerful bass without artificial boost.
